About Dr. Alex Fasano — At-Home Pet Euthanasia
Our Mission
We believe no pet should spend their last moments in a stressful clinic waiting room. That is why Dr. Fasano comes to you — whether you are in Syosset, Huntington, Garden City, Babylon, or anywhere in between. Every visit begins with unhurried time to ask questions, say goodbye, and hold your pet close. There is never a rush.
Our services include gentle sedation and painless euthanasia, palliative and hospice care consultations, private and communal pet cremation, clay and ink paw print keepsakes, and personalized memorial guidance. We work with trusted local cremation partners to ensure your pet is handled with the same care and respect we provide during the visit itself.
Our goal is to ease the emotional burden of this difficult time by delivering professional, heartfelt, and personalized care — honoring the lives of the pets who have brought so much joy to their families.
Dr. Alex Fasano
With deep roots in Long Island and a lifetime dedicated to animal care, Dr. Alex Fasano brings a unique blend of compassion, clinical experience, and understanding to one of veterinary medicine’s most sensitive services. His journey in veterinary care began early, working as a veterinary assistant at clinics throughout Long Island and New York City during his high school years, where he first witnessed the profound bond between pets and their families.
After earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, Dr. Fasano spent three meaningful years in general practice in Miami, developing what he values most — genuine connections with pet owners during both routine and difficult moments. His integrative approach to medicine and willingness to think beyond conventional solutions allows him to provide personalized care that honors each pet’s unique circumstances and each family’s individual needs.
Returning home to Long Island, Dr. Fasano spent several years in emergency and critical care medicine, where he managed the most urgent and complex cases — from trauma to acute illness. That experience gave him a deep understanding of when medical intervention can help and, just as importantly, when it is time to let go. It is this perspective that shapes his approach to end-of-life care: honest, gentle, and always guided by what is best for the pet.
Dr. Fasano founded Royal Farewells because he saw too many families facing their pet’s final moments in a rushed, clinical environment. He believes every pet deserves to pass peacefully at home, surrounded by the people who love them. Every visit is personal — Dr. Fasano handles each case himself, from the initial phone call through aftercare coordination. Families across Nassau and Suffolk County trust Royal Farewells because they know they are getting a dedicated veterinarian who genuinely cares, not a rotating staff of unfamiliar faces.
As a pet parent himself to a French Bulldog named Pierre, Dr. Fasano understands firsthand the depth of the human-animal bond — and the heartbreak of facing a beloved pet’s decline. When not caring for his patients, he cherishes time with his wife and daughters at their home in Long Island, maintaining an active lifestyle that keeps him grounded and energized for the emotional demands his work requires.
Dr. Fasano is a licensed veterinarian in the state of New York. He stays current with the latest advances in veterinary palliative care and pain management to ensure every patient receives the most comfortable end-of-life experience possible. He is also experienced in palliative and hospice care, helping families navigate the days and weeks leading up to a pet’s passing with guidance on pain management, quality-of-life assessments, and knowing when it is time.
Dr. Fasano’s commitment to compassionate care is reflected in his approach to in-home euthanasia services:
Creating a peaceful, stress-free environment
Taking time to understand each family's wishes
Ensuring dignity and comfort for every pet
Supporting families through their grieving process
